I get most of my social networking traffic from Twitter. I don't over post too many links. If people that are following you see that you post a ton of links they are going to quit clicking on them. Only post links when they are relevant and not too often.
In my opinion, the sites you listed - no, its not worth the trouble. Its worth a little bit of trouble, but not a lot. Traffic from sites like stumbleupon have about a 90% bounce rate. With a boucnerate that high, do not spend a lot of time on the project. Even though stumble might be my 8th - 10th highest source of traffic, it has one of the highes bounce rates. On the other hand, youtube is my 4 - 5 highest source of traffic and my #2 source of targeted traffic with an 18% - 23% bounce rate. So I spend a lot of time making youtube videos, and very little time on social bookmarking. In the same amount of time I can spend bookmarkling some of my pages, I can put that time towards video editing. What is the bounce rate of that twitter traffic? Especially compared to other sources of traffic? You need to take a look at the WHOLE picture - such as amount of time spent on the project, bounce rate compared to other traffic sources,,,, and anything you can think of. Do not spend 2 hours working on traffic that has an 80% - 90% bounce rate. When you can take that time and dedicate it to working on traffic sources that has a 20% bounce rate.
I don't deal with social media sites very much; so I'm really not qualified to answer this question. But I've always believe that social media traffic was un-targeted. Maybe I'm wrong. Social media traffic is very good, though, for building list via squeeze page, where sales can be pitched later.
i prefer to register as many as to web directory rather than social network there are certainty reason why people join to social network and link building has low priority so then people almost will not check the link
i don't get many social networking traffic from digg, twitter.maybe i should pay more attention to these works.
It depends where on a social networking site you can get your link to be. I once got a link on the first page of Sphinn which resulted in a huge amount of traffic, which was visible in my Analytics.
I do get traffic from social networking sites but still looking for a formula that will give me huge traffic. if anyone knows about it, please let me know.
Yes, Digg and StumbleUpon could get you a lot of (useless) traffic. Make sure you can actually convert that traffic into sales otherwise it's a waste of time and bandwidth
I get steady traffic from a variety of social networks and social bookmarking, but it is still only a small percentage of my overall traffic. The large majority of my traffic is organic.
I do get some traffic but it's almost negligible when compared to overall traffic. Best traffic sources for me have been other blogs and search engines.
Yeah, I heard of people getting massive traffic from social networks but I really don't know how to go about that the right way. I tried digg but my posts rarely get more than two clicks from there.
If you get your content right, social media sites can send 10’s of thousands of visitors to your site in a short space of time.
