The Bible is used as a measuring stick. You say my religion is 150 years old. In what sense? We go by what Jesus taught and also by what all the apostles wrote in the Greek scriptures. It does not matter which Bible is used, the teachings are no different even though some of the words translated are different. That is how we have the correct answers. By always going back to the Bible and nor man's thoughts.

Well, you know there are other historical writings about these words used in the Bible? Go look them up and see what those terms mean. Just because wikipedia writes stuff, does not mean it is accurate. Wikipedia was written by man, right?

You say lies, I say mistakes (in regards to predictions). At least we have the gall to say we made a mistake when one is made. Again, you are using Wikipedia as a trusted source. Surely, you can quote some books that factual historical data for these matters?

Lies are things which are intended to be covered up. Since when do Jehovah's Witnesses cover up anything about these predictions? We don't. Therefore, your point is moot, unfortunately for you.

People that lie have an agenda, most usually their own and for their own gain. We have an agenda. An agenda to teach people to benefit themselves by adhering to the Bible's message and living a much better life now and in the future.

Forgive those who mislead you. The do not know why they do so. However, the Bible can identify the reason's why they do. There is no misleading from us. We try to show what the Bible really teaches. If you don't want that message and you don't want to know. Then, that's a decision you are entitled to make. You will most certainly not be judged by any of us. We don't have the right to.

    Regards,

    Col :)

Your interpretation of the bible is obviously quite different from other chirstian cults interpretation of it. And your interpretation is less than 150 years old. That's the way your religion is less than 150 years old

I would say the "teachings" of the different bibles are quite different considering the fact that some talk about hell and some don't.

right, but a catholic or a protestant or an orthodox could say exactly the same thing about their religion. So why do you believe that YOUR religion is the "correct" one? And as I've said before your interpretation of the bible was written by a small group of people and then spread to others, so how is that not "man's thoughts"?

well I'm not a lingvist and frankly I have no ideea where else to look for information about those words. Wikipedia is considered to be quite a reliable source for accurate information.

I could say exactly the same thing about the bible

it's funny how many of these "mistakes" your religion makes and again, wikipedia is considered to have quite accurate information

your religion's agenda is simply to get more people to believe the stuff you believe. Sure, you might actually think you have the right answers and that you're doing a good deed or something but the shit your religious leaders have made up was simply to get more followers.

of course there isn't. I mean if you're the one who sais it then it must be true, right?. Why should I believe you and not a catholic? or an orthodox? or a hindu?? or a muslim?

Again, other people say this too. They try to show what the bible really teaches (in their interpretation of course). So again, why do you believe the stuff your religion preaches and not what other religions say? And as I said before, your interpretation of the bible is less than 150 years old and was thought by a small group of people. What makes you think they were right?

Let's not forget hear that the NWT was translated by Westcott & Hort. These two were not Jehovah's Witnesses. By the way. I hope you are not labeling our organization as a cult?

    Fair comment.

By the way we do just what God and his Son asks us to do. Who else is fulfilling the prophecy at Matthew 24:14? Also, who else is doing what Jesus said at Matthew 28:19 & 20? Who else, along with these things use God's name at Psalms 83:18?

Fair comment. There is a great deal more accurate information out there.

Really? That's quite a statement you are making there. Can't see how you can back that up. That would mean you know how to read their hearts and intentions. Do you claim to be a psychic? I think not. I can tell you this though. Our agenda is of love. We want as many people as we can talk to, to learn the truth, so they can save their lives by not turning their backs on God, who is our creator, according to the Bible. Is this such a bad agenda? By trying to save people's lives?

No. Don't just go by my words. Find out for yourself. No reason why you can't get an education to find out the truth for yourself. That's what we offer. Bible studies. To study God's word. Then you can make your own decision to decide whether or not God's word is so.

I think I already answered this above. Actions speak louder than words my friend. What we say and what we do work together. What others say and what they do, often do not work together. Jesus once said "You will know them by their fruits".

    Col :)

    I meant denomination

Right, but in order to have their lives "saved" they have to interpret the bible the way you do, perform the "rituals" you do, worship the way you do. That's practicly joining your religion. So in fact your religion's agenda is to get people to follow your religion

Atari its a shame that u are presenting the protestent side of this equation even though we still consider u protestants to be christians you dont see me trying to disprove that fact even though i could easily.
There are currently over 40,000 different protestant churches and each has different beliefs. God did say to peter undeniably that he has one church, not 40,000 different churches. If bible alone was good enough , then all 40,000 protestant churches would believe that same thing.

Atari, your a joke, go and play your 1980's atari games, maybe u can find the answer in pong before u start throwing wild accusation that are a complete joke.

There was no protestant religion until the 1600's when ur gay king james ratified his style of the bible as the true one. Try reading it and then go back and read the original bible that was ratified in 393 ad and see if u can spot just a few slightttttttttttt differences. You sound just like some catholics i know( i try to be a practicing catholic) with the eyeballs popping out screaming out in different tongues. Loving jesus comes from the heart and like it or not catholics are the original christians and without them to have saved the teachings of the bible from the apostles through jesus, we might not be reading any bibles today, and by the way
i believe that i will not just see catholics but many different people in heaven. Remember the bible is a guideline, even jesus came to heal people on the sabbath day against the protests of many jews against the law also.

You claim to love jesus? If you do then its time u start reading your bible history instead of blindly believing what some pastor told u

I would also add that Christianity is very different from Christendom. Having been raised a Catholic, easily rejected when I found them out in their first lie (that ole' red light aint perpetual, I saw the priest lighting it!), then I found out that Jesus had brothers and sisters, that makes Mary not a perpetual virgin, and so on. At 8 or 9 years I was questioning the existence of God (having an atheist father made that one pretty easy too). I made a good study of the reformed and protestant churches during my teenage years, and studied their origins and beliefs. Whilst they managed to eliminate many of the corrupt teachings from Catholicism, they all still hold to the big four:trinity, hellfire, heavenly destiny and immortality of the soul. I knew eternal torment in Hell could not be true, realised the political motivation of such a teaching and therefore found myself back at atheism by default. Later I checked out Buddhism (waddaya know, hell is right in there with the buddhists, no less than 16 levels!), dabbled a bit with the occult (and found that to be all too real), and later found the truth! REAL Christianity, bonafide, hunky dory, fair dinkum, straight as a die, as taught by Jesus. Made a whole lot of sense. Wanna know more? www.watchtower.org

Renie so your telling us that u believe that jesus is inferior to god the father?
So tell us why u believe that jesus is just a son of god and not god also?
Let the fun begin:) hey Renie i didnt know that i was saved from my sins by an archangel loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool.
Thank you for opening up my eyes lol :::: jesus or should i say michael the archangel??????????????????????????

    Is Christ God?

    1. "Christ is God’s Son and is inferior to him." Given in support of this position are these verses: "And lo, a voice from heaven, saying, ‘This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased’" (Matt. 3:17). "I proceeded and came forth from God" (John 8:42). "If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I go to the Father; for the Father is greater than I" (John 14:28). "I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God" (John 20:17). "The head of every man is Christ, the head of a woman is her husband, and the head of Christ is God" (1 Cor. 11:3). "When all things are subjected to him, then the Son himself will also be subjected to him who put all things under him, that God may be everything to every one" (1 Cor. 15:28).

At first glance these citations seem imposing. It does seem that Christ is inferior to God the Father in some sense. But the New Testament also has verses which clearly show Christ and the Father to be equals. For example, there is John 10:30: "I and the Father are one." Or, "He who has seen me has seen the Father" (John 14:9). Or, "All that the Father has is mine" (John 16:15). Or, "The Jews sought all the more to kill him, because he not only broke the Sabbath but also called God his Father, making himself equal with God" (John 5:18). Or, "[Jesus], though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped" (Phil. 2:6). These seem to contradict the other verses.

How do we make sense of all this? By keeping in mind that Jesus is both God and man. Some verses, such as these last five, refer exclusively to his Godhead. Others refer to his humanity. So far as he is God, Jesus is equal to the Father. Christ’s human nature, though, is created and is therefore inferior to the Father. But to focus on this aspect of Christ to the exclusion of his divine nature is a gross misunderstanding of who and what the Bible says Jesus Christ is. Other verses cited by the Witnesses, such as Matthew 3:17, show merely that Christ is God’s Son, not that he is inferior (in fact, John 5:18 shows that being God’s Son is being equal to God).

Renie i just hope that if someone desperately needs a blood transfusion to save their lives that you will be ok with that:)
    No Blood Transfusions!

    4. "Taking blood into the body through mouth or veins violates God’s laws." The Jehovah’s Witnesses are perhaps best known to other Americans as people who won’t allow themselves or their children to have blood transfusions. In fact, they will go so far as to allow a loved one to die rather than accept a transfusion, as they believe transfusions are a gross violation of God’s law. They support this notion with these verses: "Only you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood" (Gen. 9:4). "You shall not eat the blood of any creature, for the life of every creature is its blood" (Lev. 17:14). "For it has seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things that you abstain from what has been sacrificed to idols and from blood and from what is strangled and from unchastity" (Acts 15:28, 29).

There are several problems with interpreting these verses to mean that transfusions are forbidden, not the least of which is the fact that the context is referring to animal blood, not human blood. Moreover, there is a great difference between eating blood and receiving a life-giving blood transfusion. Eating blood was wrong because it profaned the life of the animal. But for a person to willingly share his blood intravenously in order to share life with someone does not profane anything. Indeed, even ultra-Orthodox Jews, who strictly observe the Old Testament kosher laws, recognize that blood transfusions are not prohibited by the command not to eat blood.

The Witnesses must avoid other problematic passages that deal with God’s prohibition of eating blood because these passages include a prohibition against eating fat. Witnesses do not believe eating fat is wrong, and would see no problem at all with someone munching on fried pork rinds (i.e., deep-fried pieces of pig fat) or sitting down to dinner and enjoying a nice fatty cut of prime rib. But their vehement opposition to eating blood, when contrasted with their approval of eating fat, presents a serious problem for them. Why? Because Leviticus, the book they go to in order to substantiate their prohibition of eating (and receiving transfusions of) blood, contains, in the same passages, prohibitions against eating fat.

Consider these examples: "It shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations, in all your dwelling places, that you eat neither fat nor blood" (Lev. 3:17). "The Lord said to Moses, ‘Say to the people of Israel, You shall eat no fat, of ox, or sheep, or goat. The fat of an animal that dies of itself, and the fat of one that is torn by beasts, may be put to any other use, but on no account shall you eat it. For every person who eats of the fat of an animal of which an offering by fire is made to the Lord shall be cut off from his people. Moreover you shall eat no blood whatever, whether of fowl or of animal, in any of your dwellings. Whoever eats any blood, that person shall be cut off from his people’" (Lev 7:22–27).

These verses and others like them are difficult for Witnesses to explain, given that they lean heavily on the prohibitions against eating blood. It’s totally inconsistent to maintain that God’s "perpetual statute" against eating blood must be observed, while his "perpetual statute" (that appears in the very same context) against eating fat can be safely ignored. On this subject, as on many others, the Witnesses are highly selective and must ignore much of the Bible in order to make their beliefs seem "biblical."

Also, the Old Testament dietary laws simply don’t apply to Christians today (cf. Col. 2:16–17, 22), and the ones given at the Council of Jerusalem passed into disuse as Jewish conversions to Christianity became uncommon toward the end of the first century and the Church became mainly Gentile. They weren’t immutable doctrines, but disciplinary rules.

    No Clergy!

    was christ created??????????????????????????????????/

    Was Christ Created?

    2. "Christ was the first of God’s creations." Verses cited by Witnesses in support of this claim include: "He is the image of the invisible God, the first-born of all creation" (Col. 1:15). "And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: ‘The words of the Amen [Christ], the faithful and true witness, the beginning of God’s creation’" (Rev. 3:14).

In the first of the two verses, Witnesses think that "first-born" implies succession and inferiority. But the title "first-born" refers to Christ’s place as the chief and unique Son of God (cf. Rom. 8:29).
Further, the Greek of this verse can also be translated as "the first-born over all creation," as in the New International Version of the Bible.

Regarding the second verse from Revelation, it’s hard to see how it helps the Witnesses at all. It merely says Christ was the source of creation. This implies Christ is divine, since God created everything.

The fact that there was no time when the Son did not exist is indicated in John 1:1–3: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God; all things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made." This passage also shows that the Son is not a creature because all created things were made through him, and no created things were made except through him.

Wow Renie i didnt know jesus was really just an archangel, someone better tell jesus this lol

    Jesus Only an Archangel

Still, he’s only a creature. The miracles he performed attested not to his own divinity, but to approval of him by God. In heaven, Jesus is now known as Michael. (This identification of Jesus and Michael the Archangel relies on Jude 9, Daniel 10:13 and 12:1, and Revelation 12:7-8. Read them for yourself and see how far-fetched this is.)

What these beliefs of the Witnesses amount to is the ancient heresy of Arianism, which is nothing new. Athanasius battled it a millennium and a half ago.

Ping Pong, with all due respect I have heard it all before, thousands of times. Tell me, when did Jesus say he was God? Surely if this is the founding doctrine of all of Christendom, Jesus would have been really rather explicit about it. But actually he said to Satan: It is Jehovah your God you must worship and to him alone you must render sacred service ( at Luke 4:8). He only ever said he was the son of God, he mentioned he is the Messiah, and said that doing the will of 'my father' is the guarantee of life. He actually mentioned his father quite a lot. Are you your father, the same one, or different? If you are his son then you can never be the father, except of your own son. The trinity isn't true, and it isn't logical and it is a perpetuation of very ancient triads of gods that have been worshipped at the instigation of Satan for centuries.
As for Jesus being the archangel or chief angel, why does that bother you so much? It seems to bring you into some state of consternation. Jesus Christ is our Lord and King, first born of all our loving father's creation (including all the millions of angels). He is the chief cornerstone of our faith, our redeemer, our high priest, our teacher, our leader and our judge, we submit wholly to his authority (Matthew 28:18). We just don't worship him, we worship his father and creator and ours. (John 4:23,24 ) (Revelation 4:11) (Psalm 83:18).
Finding the truth becomes so much easier when God's rightful name is restored to Bible then the confusion between 'lords' and 'LORDS' disappears.
I am sorry you are so scornful, but I have heard it all before and I have listened to the voices of thousands of people expressing their beliefs, I have researched all the major religions of Christendom, and dabbled in some of the more 'eastern' ones too. Now surely somewhere in that conflagration of beliefs and ideas, if there was something better than what is taught in the Bible, and an organisation more fully doing God's will than Jehovah's Witnesses, that I might have managed to find it? If there is then I want to know, because if I haven't got the truth then I would like to find it. I have spoken to hundreds of Pentecostals of multiple factions and sects, haven't seen any doing the will of my father yet, cos everyone is too busy worshipping the son, stopping at the door so to speak, instead of going through it. Satan is "misleading the entire inhabited earth" Revelation 12:9. Now does that mean he is spending all that time and effort misleading just one tiny group, i.e. Jehovah's Witnesses? Satan is a God, he is the god of this system of things (2 Corinthians 4:4), he has blinded the minds of the unbelievers. He has powerful angels under his authority, but nobody thinks he is the Almighty God, Creator of heavens and earth! (not even Satanists, they recognise the truth a bit clearer, that Jehovah is their chief enemy, and it is his son Jesus who now has the authority and who cast Satan from heaven).
