Do you ever want to throw your computer out of the window?

You must have seen that video of a man furiously smashing up his computer. Do you ever feel that way? Have you ever smashed up your computer? A little like biting the hand which feeds you but computers can be infuriating. With the advent of smaller and wireless computers, throwing them out of the window is becoming easier - will this lead to increased incidents of computer throwing or will it calm computer ragers?

I think it was a couple years back... On my older PC running WinXP, I had a very bad virus experience from an anonymous email which I (stupidly) decided to open. Eventually I decided to format and just start over from scratch, I thought I had saved everything. It turns out I had forgot to backup all my bookmarks from the browser, and I had also forgot to back up ALL 190GB+ of video editing media I had in a folder in c:. When I realized how much crap I lost I kicked the tower onto its side, and in the process broke the DVD drive and also the CPU heatsink broke right off the brackets (it was a pretty heavy Zalman 120mm HSF).

Learned my lesson that day... don't kick a computer LOL. It's not the same as throwing but it's the closest I've ever come.

There has been a few times that I wanted to throw my PC out of the window but never have done.

If I have a problem on the PC I usually leave it for a while and go back to it after I have relaxed a bit.

I know throwing your computer out of the window would be a case of cutting your nose off to spite your face or shooting yourself in the foot because we need computers to make any money nowadays but I can't believe that the thought hasn't even crossed your mind.

I've noticed that nobody had mentioned the safety issues of throwing their computer out of the window. I could throw mine out of my window without causing injuries to passers by - unless by freak coincidence - but others must be by windows outside which people are standing or walking. If I had such a window I'd be even less likely to jettison my computer in the way described...

I actually ripped the keyboard from my computer and threw it through my window one time. Not sure what I was thinking, I just meant to flip the keyboard in the air as I got up to leave the room, and the next thing I know I'm taping plastic over my window until the glass guy could get here.

Not really; I have never experienced nor do I want to know such a feeling of negativity. You must have been really furious about something to make you want to do that, or seriously on drugs.
My computer is very reliable and efficient, even though it may be a bit outdated, but I still like it.

I never did get angry with the computer but I always got angry with my modem ( you remember the super fast 56Kbps ones?). I threw one across my room a few years back! :D

Get you! I hope you don't ever feel negative but, then again, people who are always upbeat, gushingly happy and loud are rather a pain - I hope you're somewhere in the middle :
