Do you ever think there will be live PR?

Do you ever think there will be a live pagerank? Meaning... more heavily backlinked sites will begin to get PR updated more frequently. I think the idea would be kind of nice.

 

Google doesn't like to give out too much info to webmasters because it fears manipulation. IF pr updates on a frequent basis it makes it easier for webmasters to experiment and manipulate page rank or SERP positions. So while we all would love to have pr update on a more frequent basis I don't see it happening.

 

That sound a great idea and it would be a bonus for the webmaster, but i guess google doesn't want.

 

I don't see why not. If Yahoo have the ability to count their backlinks every few days, I'm sure Google could manage the same. As abdussamad says, Google like to keep a few surprises up their sleeve.

 

yes i won't be surprised if that happens ...plus i would like a pr update often like every month ??

 

Its already live but its not updated (visible )for you , otherwise many people would exploit it .

 

there used to be LIVE pagerank, but they disabled it and I don't think they will ever bring it back.

 

Question is, when do you think the next PR is!

 

Good point, Google already has far too many people trying to game it with the current information that they publish, let alone if they start giving real time information.

I've been waiting for live PR for a long time. Probably not going to happen though.

If Google implement the policy to provide LIVE PR, it will definitely makes webmasters life easy..

But Google won't do this..

 

It may nice to have live pr.

But I donot think it is possible for G to do so now.
Because G have no ability to do so yet.

Every time before the PR updates:
G have to pre-test new PR updates before they really release or export them.
There are always something need to be adjusted.

PS: G told me this secret .... Shiiiiiii ..... do not tell other people.

 

No, i don't think it will happen. Because making people aware of PR thing has created some problems for Google in giving quality search results. I think Google will not make this mistake next.

 

If PR change frequently many SEO would be crazy if they see their PR decrease every minute or everyday. LOL

 

Its always good to know your live PR especially for the webmasters. Maybe they will put this information in our Google Webmaster tools account soon
