I've got to give something to SEO Quake pretty soon here, that thing is a life saver. Anyone else ever give money to free software companies?
I tell you that I've been meaning to give some to the developers of Spybot S&D....that program is one of the best ever free ones IMO.
Personally, I haven't made any donations for anything I've used with a freeware / shareware license. I've always wondered how many people will actually give up any money for something they can have for free. I'm guessing the percentage would be very very low.
I have made donations a few times for stuff that I really got a lot of use out of. Why not? Its fair isnt it? Developers put a lot of work and effort into a project and if the end result is something really good that will help you then you should give back something if you are able. To me Karma comes into it. If you think about it Karma is involved in every aspect of our life, even business.
I never donated any such companies but i make Free popularity of such softwares if u have any such software just contact me i will make its popularity free of cost Chetan
Is giving donations is somewhat paying? If so, then I did pay before for some open source software...
Yeah quite a few, everything from big projects such as Awstats to one man tools like SysSense. If it's valuable to me i don't mind giving back to support development of an even better product.
i have donated over $100 to Active Lock (a open source software protection company) because there admins teach me how to make hardware base software protection.... and how to make a key maker or generator.... so i am really forever greatful to them.... so i still try to help them whenever i can....
