I am pretty comfortable alone and can spend a lot of time by myself, but sure... every now and then, I get lonely. It's nice to have someone to do things with, and it's nice to know that if you do get bored with being alone, you can just call someone over or dial their number on the phone. The lonely feeling usually hits me as I scan my phone and realize there's no one who I can call anymore when it's 3 am and I can't sleep because I had a bad dream. But it passes.
I would like to add; Try to be good human being, IMO success with being good human can be a perfect combination. G!
I don't have much choice on being lonely unfortunately, my career choice means I work rotating schedules and almost never have a proper weekend, meeting someone is next to impossible except on dating sites, and even then, the majority I find on there seem to be looking for Bradd Pitt or someone similiar... Maybe I should get a name change =)
Very true, the most important trip we will ever take is the journey to become a better human being. If you succeed in this you won't be lonely as others will seek you out.
Yes..I also feel . But not all time some time. I think it is needed cause without loneliness the inclination to get someone closer can't grow inside you .
I've never thought of it quite like that. So with your sentiment there is a viable reason for people to feel lonely?.........interesting!
God is forgiving, understanding, and accepting, but will *only* be your friend and companion if you invite this great spirit in. Once having done this, lonliness will be a stranger to you.
@spoiltdiva, get a like for what? Because he said something I completely agree with and said it in a great way? Get over yourself!
Giving some credits where due. I went through a lonely phase 18 years ago and took that as a sign to relocate, which was the best decision.
Funny that I came across this post as well as the pic with Robin Williams above because I'm in a situation where I've felt alone when with a particular person that I care about and spend most of my free time with. I've come to understand that you have to give what you value, which in part is your time and presence, to those who give that in return.
What you are *really* alluding to here is personal growth and development. It would seem that you have reached in deep down inside, and found the capacity to be honest with yourself and your situation. Very good insightful post.
