Simple question "do you ever click ads that annoy you?" I used to do it all the time many, many years ago just because I knew it cost those who paid for them money and I wanted it to cost them as much as possible as I didn't like their ads targeting me. This was when I was a lot younger and thought it was really funny to do so. Could have been any company, but mainly it was those that targeted me or we're targeted at me by the likes of Google due to searches or behaviour etc. These days I have noticed teenagers I know doing the same thing just for a laugh as they now know it costs those companies money, forgetting of course the real winners in this are of course Google and other ad network providers. So do you ever click adverts for the wrong reasons and if so why? When I say "the wrong reasons" I simply mean with no intention of checking out and perhaps buying the advertised product/service, but for other reasons than that. I wonder who will admit to the odd click or to more?
I have better things to do with my time, but I do click on ads that look interesting. Sometimes I click on ads on good blogs to thank the owner for the useful info.
Yeah that's quite common practise clicking on ads that way as is clicking on ads of friends or other such contacts sites. It's always a good way to help a site owner/publisher make a few cents from another biz advertiser that way.
I really don't, cause I'm not interested in what they have to offer.. I was always avoiding it, and I'm still..
Google ads don't annoy me much, facebook ads, on the other hand, do. I just can't stand them. They look ugly. I click on them from time to time just to see who is behind some of those ads. I will not be surprised if facebook's ROI is the worst in the advertising industry.
I don't see any ads because I block them in my browser. And if I did, I certainly wouldn't waste time with them.
Ads annoy me a bit let now. The days of very intrusive ads seem to be very much on the decline (yes, not completely gone, I know). Any time I end up on a page with such an ad, I bounce. Although, like Devtard, I usually don't see them due to using an ad blocker.
Not in general, they usually are annoying tbh. Especially if the ads are promoting products/services that are not really of use for me.
