I'm wondering if you guys count the time you're working on a project each week ?? Personally, I do. Then I calculate my hourly rate for a period of time... Unfortunately, it's not that good those days...
No, I don't. But unlike most of you DPers, I'm retired and doing website work at my leisure. Best wishes to all.
I always count my time, not about the hour rate but time management. I need to complete the project within the time.
I am trying to count time but it seems like it flies much faster lately.Maybe it has something to do with 2012
I do a lot of website work for a hobby but I hope to make a profit soon. "Anybody here need press releases written?" lol
I don't really do it accurately, but yes, I do think about it. My hourly rate isn't great, but going up slowly.
Yes i did count it overtime. For example,if during weekend,i must make sure my earning is 2x of week days.
I'm trying to count on the time that I use during projects and when working in all areas but basically, I work from 9am until 12am and then do the next day. My only issue is the watching movies or learning information issues with time management
Sometimes I count my time when I need to do something else like going out. But I usually not count it, because I'm just working at home and all I can do is to finish my given task.
Counting the time is a must, rate of the project is directly proportional to the expected time. That is why I count my time, always!
Well, I don't literally count my time cause it make me less productive. I just don't mind the time and just do my tasks for the day. It makes me more focus and able to finish all my loads just in time.
Nope, because around 90% of the time I'm not doing anything, so it would be pointless, I hardly do any work due to the fact everything I'm running is automated more or less, just spending some time researching new projects and what not, which isn't even working, I don't have to do it to get money, I could just sit back and leave what I've got running.
I offer package deals for web design & for SEO, & for SEO web design. I can keep track fairly well mentally, but over-all, I do very well considering the option of being an employee. All of my clients respect my time & realize when they may be extending the contract (I make subtle suggestions). I also keep time for clients who are on hourly rates using http://www.online-stopwatch.com
