I'm considering using this wordpress plugin to send an email a day later to people who have commented for the first time. It would say something along the lines of "thank you for commenting....here's a link to your comment.....you might also want to subscribe to our newsletter." At the end, I would let them know that it would be the only email they would be receiving from me unless they subscribed. What does everyone think about the idea? If you were to receive such an email, would it anger you? If it makes any difference, I'd be running it on a men's online lifestyle magazine.
i don't see a problem. if a user is taking the time to comment, i think acknowledging it with a nice follow up email is fine. 1 time only.
I agree. One email can't hurt. Will you be advertising or trying to sell anything in this email? Because if you are it could be considered spam. If not go for it, some people might even appreciate the personal (kind of) touch.
