I am working for a new client right now who has a poor site, no SEO, no real content and he was asking why people drop off his site. After going through the obvious suspects I came up with a plan of action for him and how we can move forward. Before I did this plan for him, he said that other SEO companies had just focussed on getting his site seen, but no-one had done anything about keeping the traffic on his site once there. Traffic retention is something I do a lot of for all customers but it seemed that from 5 other quotes, no-one had put anything together at all to try and keep his visitors where he wanted them! Do you do much in terms of traffic retention techniques for your clients? Or do you find that once the SEO is done, that is enough? Andy
Depends on what I want traffic for? If I'm looking to sell something to them, I'd hope that the page they find is the one they need and then they immediately make a purchase, therefore leaving my site once completed. Or, if I have a forum I want them to stick around. Also, if I have an adsense farming website, I'll be happy if they click out via an ad that I have. Who cares if they only view one page. Just depends on what you want the visitor to do.
I think it's very important for companies to concentrate on traffic retention and conversion. Unfortunately, this is the part where the 'web designers' should have excelled
All depends on the customer requirement, if they need only traffic retention, then i will focus on that. If they are asking for the SEO as well, then only i will do SEO for them. Of course the quote will be different. Basically, i will only do on-page SEO for the customer, it is enough to generate some traffic to their website. If they ask for Off-page SEO, they need to pay monthly basis
