Do you close submissions over the festive season?

With the festive holidays fast approaching do you take time out and close submissions.

Ie, put a note up on your submission page stating that submissions will be dealt with later than usual or do your just keep them coming and party on more.

Not every webmaster in the world celebrates Christmas.

When it was Diwali many directory owners still worked. Taking 2 days off on Christmas won't hurt anyone.

yeah i know....what i mean is that not all festive periods are at the same time. Just because its holiday in the UK or USA etc doesnt mean all of Asia want to be ignored for the week:)

No, that is right. However, with a huge chunk of the business world taking out time it's an excellent opportunity toooooo.

I wont be closing anything, everythings open as normal and any submissions i may get i would still go out of my way to deal with them quickly.

I read in a recent newsletter about things not to do and one example was a woman completely taking her site offline for 3 weeks over the holidays, not a notice saying she will be back soon, literally took the site down.

Good move Malcolm, who are we to turn good money down!

Unfortunatly here on my side we are shutting shop. Got no choice as flying out for a week so I'll tell myself and try to be as convincing as possible that those interested will come back and submit or submit and be patient.;)

I do not close my submission form as it's a 24-7 open directory. I celebrate christmas but would never close my directory of submissions, they will just have to wait until the beginning of next year if not 5 days after January.

Personally I would recommend all directories close submissions from Dec. 18 - Jan. 18, it is the right thing to do to respect all the holidays. If you like you can just redirect your submission pages to my directory during this time.

You can put a notification in your submit page that it will take around 3-5 days to approve submissions.

So no need to close submissions. :)
