I have never bought traffic, because I think it's not necessary for me. However, if your site is a business site, I think maybe that is one good way to get more traffic.

I've bought traffic - but I read the terms and conditions carefully
and I knew what I was getting into.

Not all traffic is geared toward a specific niche. In most cases
it is geared toward helping you rank better so that you can
get some "real" organic traffic that will convert.

For example, there's a site I buy from to get more unique
views to my videos. It's cheap - 5 bucks - and it works
like a charm to get my videos ranking better on Youtube.

In a nutshell - know what you are getting into and then
decide if it's what you want to do.

Every experience I've had buying web traffic has been crap or bot traffic - waste of money

I don't need just any traffic, but targeted traffic. If buying achieves that, fine.
JV's might be better to get the results you are looking for, but are not available to a beginner. Get good at building your list and then get together with others.

Buying traffic especially nowadays is frowned upon, as you don't know if the traffic is not just a bunch of bots, i.e. no human will actually see your site

I agree. I have bought traffic to increase my rank as well but not for conversion purpose.

yes but one issue is that muzzle loader and shot gun season starts right after thanksgiving and it would be nice to have something up and running before than. Might be impossible without contracting it out, and I'm not sure I want to do that. We've had a couple of issues this month that prevented me from devoting time to getting the site up and running...

Hello virtual webmarket. If I were you, I would research on this service before purchasing. There are a lot of internet marketing scams on the web. You would much rather implement a technique to get long term traffic to your site then paying, unless you know your conversion rates are going to be high. Also keep in mind you want to get targeted traffic to your website. If someone you know personally liked the service, I would purchase it, but if not, I wouldn't look at it! Good luck buddy!

okay but even someone selling a website presumably relevant to our field and presumably with decent traffic...even these may be scams? Or are you referring to some of the other ideas mentioned here? I guess I am a bit overwhelmed by the different techniques that are available. ..

Don't prefer to buy traffic, it is easiest way to do it for you. But if the site really does a good work with a very low amount it is not buy to try it. For me I will not buy. There are many websites out there offering innocent webmasters to buy traffic – targeted and untargeted, quality in bulk for various prices scaling from $9 to $1000. And there are a lot of SCAM SITES so be careful in choosing a best site for your traffic

PPC is usually the best route for paid traffic. Other forms can be spammy and scammy. :)

    Never have, and never will.

While the traffic spike in your stats might be enough to get your panties in a twist, the amount of sells you receive from this junk traffic definitely won't.
