It can be very risky to build links automatically especially for new websites. I recommend building backlinks manually to have a good link building velocity so that it will look natural to Google.
Here is a little test can you tell which links are created by a human and which are created by an automated program if any? I think manual links and automated links are both useful. Some clients gives us software while others prefer it manually. Using automated software makes our work faster but then gives us a great result just like of manual. There's nothing wrong in automation if you know what you are doing.
Have been online for 11 years. Nothing I have ever read about Google updates as well as informed reporting from well respected websites that interpret Google's algorithms leads me to believe that Google would ever support or encourage automatic link building. In short Google wants to improve the end user-customer-reader- experience and enhance the quality of listings, accuracy, relevance and the like. Thus why would Google ever green light using an automaic link building strategy? The answer is they wouldn't, don't, never have and never will. Again this is not me speaking but interpreting Google over 11 years. Manual - yes, Automatic- no. I wouldn't do it under any circumstances. Link building is time consuming, but Google wants "natural" results and automatic is not natural. This forum is great for a lot of reasons but, for what it is worth, I have found anything that you can buy for $39.99 for 1,000 backlinks or anything like that is just nonsense. Create awesome content, contact other webmasters personally, get a little dirty and forget about this automatic nonsense. Just my opinion. Good Luck!
I must totally agree with @carlenesky. Why? Well because his/her answer "As Stated" is correct. I've already seen successful back linking both ways. There IS a little special care and considerations that need to be taken care of. I you know how to do it right, automation can be a useful part of the grand scheme of link building. Just my 2 cents is all. Thanks guys! Gary Anderson II aka- GanderCo
I do like to build links manually because Google doesn't allow the software created links. If you create links with software its a one kind of BlackHat method. You may penalized by Google.
Manually links are valuable and stay forever. But the getting links by using software are not permanent after some time they get stuck off.
Manual link building or simply link bait. Create great content for users to automatically link to it.
That is very true if you talk about timings, but what about the accuracy, if you use any software then there is no software which can give you the guarantee about the perfect backlinks to the site, if you go with manual way, then there is 110% guarantee that you can get only those backlinks which are chosen by you to get if they are done in a proper way. So, quality matter here as SEO is a long term solution and it always takes time for giving the best output.
I would say I have had much better results using automated systems, with manual content, or manually spun content. The processes I use are to automate the mundane and boring parts of seo, just to save time more than anything. Building links while your asleep is quite nice too lol.
I usually start with manual link building and then later on combine with automated building (not spammy services or programs though) In past I used automated services a lot which resulted in a few sites moved to the google "sandbox", it took months before they where back to their "normal" serp My experience tells me that a few valid manual links is way better than 1000 spammy links, go figure heeh.. BIG SURPRISE
