    Yeah, but who do you blame for that ?

    Are you implying that hearing someone say that it may in fact be "irreversible" bothers you on one level or another due to your current or past knowledge and experiences ?SEMrush

    Excessive burning of fossil fuels is a mistake. There's no easy solutions to the problem. On national security and economic concerns we need to stop importing foreign oil. Slim Pickens had a plan and we should be taking a look at it.

    Eventually the world is going to run out of resources and the world has way more people than the carrying capacity.

    Fossil fuels are not the only problem. Lots of greenhouse gases are emitted due to methane from pigs and cattle as well as forest destruction for pasture. Decreasing meat and dairy consumption can also help.

    1. Global warming is not just "propaganda", its already happening all over, whether or not you care. And it is not just liberal; if you care about it, you wouldn't mind anymore about its economic or social or political implications, it has become a matter of existentialism, universal or planetary preservation
    of all life.
    2. What you don't believe nor understand is not necessarily "NOT true", it is
    just that you don't probably know about it, and you don't care, really.
    3. Global warming could never have been intended or tailor-made for any
    particular liberal or socialist group or individual; we don't know, nay understand enough about it, but we can only surmise on the magnitude of the power behind the phenomenon, the WHO, WHAT & HOW all of it came
    to be.
    4. And most certainly, no bright mind would ever think of any "Utopia" taking
    form in anything similar or even close to the situation where life in the planet
    stands more prone and susceptible to extinction.

    I agree, but you must admit; money talks. People are especially cheaper now a days due to all of the recent economical stresses worldwide.

    On a side note, I still think it's rather sad that we practically refuse to "drill on our own land for oil."

    So very true, and quite sad.

    Perhaps if more people began depending on more manual labor and reproduction, vs. mechanical and or robotic of the sorts, then we'd get higher quality results. I mean come on, a machine will never be equivalent to a human imo as far as trial and error and common sense goes with things like planting new fruits and foods, etc. not to mention we can't exactly train robotic machines to allocate new methods of conversing and or creating new resources for the worlds survival.

    Possibly, but do you think this is one of the more or less reasonable new methods we should try to put into place for everyone ?

    EDIT: Nice geo article, believe it or not I was just reviewing that one not too long ago.

    Burning fossil fuels is just one part of the problem. Livestock and burning the rainforests are also causing warming.

    It's crazy that a ice ice would put a couple of miles of ice over North America.

    This finding may be helpful in understanding global warming.

    Global warming is just the natural cycle of the planet. About 30 years ago everyone was worried about global cooling. You can't change something that you didn't cause in the beginning.

    There are a number of indisputable facts regarding global warming (climate change);
    1. Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas. While it is essential that our atmosphere has some for life to exist too much of it will cause a greenhouse effect (I can explain how if you are interested).
    2. Humans produce, through the burning of fossil fuels, carbon dioxide (over 20 billion tons of it a year - Think about that number).

    So unless someone is going to dispute those two claims they are forced to concede that humans are at least contributing too and making worse the warming of the planet, and at most admit that we are the main contributors to it.

    While there are natural cycles of warming and cooling there are also natural compensatory mechanisms to deal with it. At present, we alone are producing twice as much Co2 as the natural mechanisms can process.

    if anyone still thinks it isn't happen they are at best ill educated on the subject (and not really entitled to an opinion), or at worst, intentionally denying something they know to be true.

    Global warming probably isn't reversible, In time the planet will recover... Though we may not be around to see it.

    If you are in the camp that used to say "it isn't happening" but now says "it is happening, but its not our fault", then your motives are highly suspect. it's a bit like saying "i'm definitely not having an affair" and then saying "anyway, She seduced me!".
    If you are in the camp which says "It is happening, it is our fault but whats the point of doing anything because china isn't" then you should grow up. There are lots of things china isn't doing that's still worth our while doing; Human rights, democracy eating cheddar cheese to name but three.

    8 out of 10 scientists agree we are causing climate change. And if that is enough science for cats to decide what kind of food to eat it's good enough for me.

    From the article;
    Global cooling was a conjecture during the 1970s of imminent cooling of the Earth's surface and atmosphere along with a posited commencement of glaciation. This hypothesis never had significant scientific support, but gained temporary popular attention due to a combination of press reports that did not accurately reflect the scientific understanding of ice age cycles, and a slight downward trend of temperatures from the 1940s to the early 1970s. Scientific consensus is that the Earth has not durably cooled, but undergone global warming throughout the 20th century.
