Do you think it would be possible to rank #1 for a highly competitive term like SEO on Google with a newer site that has not previously ranked for that keyword before? I would just guess it would be possible, but would take at least a few years of hard work and top of the line backlinks. What do you think?
That would be really difficult, i suggest it would be possible but companies at the top there deploy their best seo methods to stay their so could you outrank a professional SEO company? I probably know of only 5-10 people who could here at DP.
Actually, when you enter SEO it will result wikipedia then seochat, unless you have seo in the begining of you domain i dont think you stand a change, if you do then you will have to work on your keywords, and traffic
It is possible to rank #1 for seo but it will take a long time and lots of hard work to achieve this.

In my own opinion, i think it's possible to rank in top10/20 but domain age play a huge part in here.. Specially with such a term (SEO) dude
By the time you manage to rank #1 for SEO, search engine optimization would have ceased to exist I wonder what SEO would refer to by then? My guess is: Super Education Ointment - a little oil that you put on to become clever... Joking aside, no, I don't think it's possible.
You'll be under alot of scrutiny by competitors. I think you'll get loads of spam complaints filed against you for link buying and the link building you'd have to do to get there and hold the spot. It'd be very hard to do it legitally, maybe even impossible considering the folks you'd be up against. You'd truley have to deserve the ranking.
Anything is possible. But I think that will cost you more than half a million $. And half an year of work. Just try it !
