I would love to answer this actually. My view = If there were no pain, there would be no pleasure. Suffering in this world = Pleasure in the next. That's the simple explanation.
You could also say, "If there were no light, there would be no dark." But to me life doesn't seem like that. Even at 2am the moon is shining. We have a mixture of pleasure and pain in this life. For what reason can we believe another existence will only have pleasure?
Well, you got me there. I can't explain why there would be able to be pleasure without pain in heaven. I don't think that is within our own logic. Who knows though. The reason I say no pleasure without pain, is because, like you say, it's sort of a scale. We measure how much of one we feel by how much of the other is not there.
Life is a test, how can we learn to love each other if everything were given to us on a silver platter. There is suffering in the world? Do something to lesson the suffering. There is hunger in this world? Look at how many people throw away access food everyday and eat this fastfood bologni everyday. Its easy to blame god when the hard thing to do is to actually help these people. If everyone in this world took time out to be there for one stranger imagine how much this world would have changed by now. Saying you love your fellow human beings is easy, showing it through your works is the hard part. Can anyone on this forum deny the fact that if we all gave something from our lives that we cant make a difference? Rebecca so when are we leaving for the red cross
Do you plan to spend eternity in heaven? What do they do there for fun? How will you keep busy? Won't all that pleasure get monotonous after a while?
That is a valid question. But we don't know, maybe you won't be bored, coz you will no longer be HUMAN again. See, we are Human because of our body and mind. But once your heart stops, your brain goes dead within 7 minutes. Then, no brain, no body, only soul. The good news is, you won't be getting bored there. P.S. And if you still get bored, I'd personally request God to lend me a computer with an internet connection, so that we can be on DP I hope that answers your question...
If G-d exists, I would not blame him for the suffering in the world. However, I would blame him for not interfering. Let's say G-d is like a parent, that is what Christianity and Islam portrays him to be. He is watching his children. They are not just fighting, they are killing eachother. A human parent would stop this immediately. But G-d would just let's all this happen. He says, "Oh. it's ok. They have freedom of choice." Why are human parents more loving than G-d? According to the bible, G-d made a deal with satan to allow him to rule the world for a certain period of time. Would a loving G-d be making deals at your expense? If G-d does exist, if the bible is not just fantasy, how would G-d be a caring G-d? Perhaps he exists but just doesn't care about us too much? "Would u rather spend it being fried well done?" Another example of that loving G-d of yours. Parents always love to burn their children forever.
Not exactly, at least not in Islam, God does not love everybody. He does not love wrong doers. We are servants of God, only created for the purpose of worshiping God by living our lives in submission to his will. Why should the creator of the universe love people who don't believe in him, how is it logical? And why shouldnt he send them to hell. If I have something that doesn't work, i usually just throw it away.
Again your looking at things through human eyes. Try watching bruce allmighty and u will get a glimpse of what its like to see the world and its problems through gods eyes.
