I do, but to an extent. If someone has a single gun (a semi-automatic) at home for protection in case of a burglary, that'd be one thing. Owning more than one gun, automatic guns and assault rifles and in some cases being allowed to carry them publicly is just moronic in every sense of the word. There's a reason that soldiers and police officers are given training in order to handle firearms that the general populous do not receive.
There is no such thing as an assault rifle., Something made up by the liberal press. Not even the army has an assault rifle.
The terminology is irrelevant and besides the point. It's a classification of gun that is known and recognized--whether "gun people" like to refer to automatic, high powered rifles as assault rifles or not isn't exactly the point. The point is that civilians shouldn't have access to them. Ever, under any circumstance. Along with any military spec weaponry or automatic weapons of any kind, and nothing that has a clip/cartridge that holds more than 8-10 bullets. Also, it wasn't made up by the "liberal press". It's a term that originated during WWII as a classification of guns that must fit certain criteria (ex. capable of selective fire, more power than a pistol--but less than a battle rifle, ammunition supplied by a 'detachable' box magazine, an effective range of 300 yards--with some exceptions--among others), so yes, there 'is' such a thing as an assault rifle if we were to split hairs. Gun Control methodology is for Short term control. If you want to full control for long term then apply "Freedom" methodology.

Haha, I know, just joking with you..bad people are everywhere, it's a fact of life sadly, but prohibited or not they still manage to get their hands on them. http://www.gunpolicy.org/firearms/region/china
exactly. i agree. bad people would manage to do it anyway . but still better prohibited it so maybe the victims have more possibilities to be rescued,
