Why would that be funny? Why would a species have to be extinct for it to be a "missing link"? Dating methods aren't flawed, But sometimes the specimen becomes contaminated. This is why when something is dated they don't just use one method, They use a variety of methods and more often that not each dating test is done my an independent lab and only after all dating methods have returned a result are the results compared. We don't know what occurred just before the big bang, But we don't have to invent invisible men. The intellectually honest have no problem with saying "we don't yet know". I don't believe in God because there is no prove he/she exists. I guess my general philosophy on it is "pics or it didn't happen".
The big bang is an explanation of the nature of the universe. We don't currently know where the energy in this universe came from and we don't know where the matter came from, We only know that it originated in the same place and exploded outwards. We have based that on observations, namely the observation that the universe is expanding in all directions. I don't know that there isn't a god and have never claimed to know. What i do know is that i have no reason to believe there is, And until i am show a reason to believe it i have to disbelieve it. That's how grown ups do things. Religion is very good at keeping people dumb and making them satisfied with not understanding. There is all that science out there, there is all this enormously fascinating stuff that you could learn. yet, because of superstition and brainwashing, you are compelled to dismiss it in the face of overwhelming evidence. I feel sorry for you, I really do. it must tear you to pieces every time you are forced to humiliate yourself in public by denying the obvious because it contradicts an unsupported superstition. If there is a god do you think he would want you to stand in the way of progress and be willfully ignorant? or would he want you to take advantage of the brain he gave you and understand the universe in which you live to the best of your ability? No I believe in the bing bang/other theories of the creation of the universe because there is scientific evidence to back it up. Pics or it didn't happen was just my creative internet way of putting it.
I am not superstitious or brainwashed. I am also not religious. In the Bible it says that God hates religion. I agree with you that religion oppresses people, keeps them stupid and enslaves them. I don't attend mass or walk up a flight of stairs on my knees. There is a God and He wants us to be free. I love science, I think it's the greatest thing in the world. However when broken logic and the denial of God are mixed it becomes dangerous and misleading. Human observation is often flawed. We have to move away from this type of reasoning. The people who understand and know better have to break away from the crowed. God wants us to use our minds and learn as much as we can about the universe we live in. He tells us not to be ignorant because theirs absolutely no hope for an ignorant person. I learn as much as I can all the time but just because a bunch of scientists believe that god doesn't exist or that we evolved we can't just follow what they say. We have to look at both sides and come to hour own intelligent conclusions. There is so much uncertainty in this world and we can't understand everything. There is nothing obvious that makes me want to deny God. I feel that there is a God and in my heart I know for certain that there is. I hope you'll come to know that there is more for us on this earth than just what we have now. You seem to be a very smart person but even intelligent people can become brainwashed. I can understand you feeling sorry for me, your only standing up for what you believe in, which is very honorable. I believe there is a life after this one and I don't want to see you end up on the bad side. I don't hate you or anything, sometimes it's tempting though I hope you find truth.
