Surely you all received tons of spam comment on your site How you know any comment is Real human comment in the way the they really read your site browse your site can give comment thus you can approve. I never approve any comments but i heard is good on SEO ? if you allow real comments on your site?
It's a good idea to allow for commentating. It provides a lot of fresh content for search engines and allows you to engage with visitors.
Comments on your site is definitely a good idea, you just need to moderate them. I guess it`s not so hard to sort those comments
I do, but I keep up with them and delete obvious spam. As long as it's on topic and not too spammy, I allow it.
This is why I curious, yup as we know if we approve comment, that person never spam links but visitors from your site does can redirect to their site by clicking on his/her nick in the comment. I do noticed Established sites allow reply, comment section but they don't have Any comments " I guess they just disapprove any comments be it bot or real human " yet their traffic is good etc. Guess a lot factors involve ? and comment is not important ?
hmm what i mean they don't even allow any comments been display but their site does show comment box. I preferring to establish sites
Depends on the site and the amount of traffic. If its a blog and needs comments, then display comments but be sure you have a spam checking plugin like Akismet to remove/flag spam. If it is a small or business website, you can disable comments without any issues.
What kind of site are you referring to, a personal one for the hobby, your portfolio or the one for your business? I think that if you are trying to grow up a community is a good idea to let them comment, for example comments about a podcast or some post you made. From my experience I know that the 95% of the web is spam so if the situation requires it I moderate the comments myself, and try to answer them if I see it fits the case.
You can put a captcha or some kind of logical example for a solution. After all, comments always inspire confidence among users.
Even though most comments that do come through are spam, I believe that allowing comments is important. Engagement with your audience allows you to display credibility. It also allows you to improve your content and offerings through feedback from what your visitors and traffic enjoy and find useful. I would rather have a negative comment regarding my content than no comment at all. This allows me to improve myself and my website.
Some niches benefit more than others when it comes to blog comments. In a lot of situations, the user comments will add value to the discussion - which can be a huge benefit to readers trying to hear feedback, thoughts and experiences from others on the topic of your article. Most professionals are 50/50 on this, and I only allow blog comments on one of my websites right now because it adds value. Spam is annoying, so find a way to cut that down and you'll be okay.
I agree with this. It depends on the type or website that it is. Blogs sort of depend on comments to indicate popularity and readability. Static websites don't need feedback from end-user. Forum post are all comments really - if you think about it. A niche video site probably wouldn't require comments being posted on their videos, Directory sites don't need comments on their listings, etc., etc., etc.
Nope I don't allow any comments. One of my sites I get about 3000+ spam comments a day when I had it open. There is no way I can go thru all those and weed out the good ones so I keep them off.
If you have the allocated time and effort allowing comments on your site will do, but it needs to moderate those comments that are most related and informative to the content.
