I guess at least it a concensus based on a massive number of people who can all vote and rate their fav movies Unlike a lot of other polls that restrict who can vote or only available to certain people...... Its such a personal thing that is something that will never be agreed on - everyone has their own likes and dislikes My view is shawshank redemption is the only one there that would make my top list and i would have to pick a top 10 as there is too many good ones to fit in a top 5
Ha ha I was about to post the same. Me too only watched this movie, godfather dunno but I have seen Sarkar which I heard has kinda same story so I didn't watched, about other too didn't heard their name.. But SR was really a great movie and No.1 position is correct for it
I think these ratings are based on public opinion and i have seen movies on the top at other rankings too. But I have relied on the ratings so far and i think they are pretty reliable.
I only watched The Shawshank Redemption, The Godfather I and II.... and i think its on right position..
I know IMDB has a tendency to be hacked/influenced by bots or other means. I remember seeing not to long ago some movie boosted up to the top of IMDB from something 4chan did.
I think Michael Mann's Heat should well be in there. Think it's at #131 atm. Alfred Hitchcock has made movies that deserve top 5 status.
