I just opened up a new directory, and I guess people can not read the guidelines or the rules of submitting directories. I want only directories that have a description of the directory for the VISITOR, not an ad for other webmasters to visit the directory and add their links. EG: Human edited directory, free submissions, come and add your links now. That is an ad to me, plus I have yet to figure out why directory owners have to say human edited. So I delete those that are ads. As a directory owner, do you accept submissions of directories that are ads? Or do you want a description that a visitor would want to read?
I would prefer to have my cake and eat it too the description can be for the visitor the meta description can be for the directory detail page. Btw Joe, I never got around d to adding my links on the other directories you mentioned on colleens forums. Am I still able to do so? If yes, I will do it in a little bit. Just need to finish something which will be a little while.
I dont mind as long as its not spam. I get submssions from some j o l l y t i n k link and it is annoying. I added it the first time I got it but then I got more and I get about 10 a day from that site so I removed it from my directory. I wonder how many of you get that?? I didnt finish spelling it out, i dont want to give publicity to a site i despise..haha
I change them if they seem way too much like an ad. If the submitter isnt happy i can always refund his money.
