Hi everyone, I have a directory thats been getting a lot of submissions lately and I have been noticing a lot of spam and MFA sites. Just wondering if you accept or reject these sites and what your criteria is for accepting a site? Are you strict or do you accept most sites?
I accept good sites not mfa ones adult or pharmacy related olso no iner pages submission and those with stupid titles and descriptions are rejected to .
MFA sites, in general, get rejected by the vast majority of directories. I try to add every site that is in any way listable to my directories....BUT...if you have hyphenated dot info domain name, two Google leaderboards and a Google search box above the fold, and the only content you have is some articles you scraped from Article Emporium...then you get deleted.
Seems like 99% of .info's that get submitted to my directories, are pure mfa sites and get deleted right away. I also reject out of hand any site that is just pure scraped articles. Been getting quite a few so called information sites and they are bad.
When I first started this directory adventure I accepted almost everything.. But as time has went by and I have got a clear picture of the types of sites that people submit, my critism has grown and grown. I am so tired of pure MFA sites, as they bring no value at all to the main audience. The number of MFA that gets approved is maybe 1/100 now. The "international" website market is so flooded with (pardon my language: crap), compared to what my regional (Denmark) offers. (the sites thats gets submitted to my regional directory, is like velvet sites, almost all in higher quality than the general international. Luckily we dont have many in Denmark making the same abuse of the PPC market....yet!) It has been harder and harder to find good international sites within the website pool. Even the MFA sites gets smarter and smarter and make me use alot of time to deciffer their intentions. For you as a directory owner, you have to be careful not to be seen as a regular linkfarm. And accepting everything blindly will punish you in the end. (I know, I'v been there). I'm affraid its up to the editores to use enough time on every submission, and have a system to collect the "garbage, both in terms of url, mail, ip(country,region)..
keep a image verification box, spam and mfa real pain i used to get a lot of it so i made my dir paid
