Agreed. I think having a blog category is a bit pointless, because it doesn't do anything to define what subject matter you will find in that category. Not all blogs are personal ramblings, you can't lump them all together.
you should submit your blog to the blogs section. opdir.com if there isn't a category suite you better, you can suggest one.
