I've been thinking about this for a while. I know that an aesthetically pleasing site is good but I believe its better to have good user assecsibility. As i'm a "geek" I enjoy going onto a site and saying "Wow, that design rocks!" But do you think us designers and coders need to make such an astonishing interface when the users of the site are mainly there for something. I always to try to make aesthetically pleasing sites and when i'm discussing with the client saying things such as "This is a cutting-edge design and it implies the greatest effect" etc I never get the reply "Wow, yes it does. It looks fantastic" Its normally something along the lines of "Nav isn't in the right place" etc. Do you think us designers spend too much time getting the design to have that wow factor and then the client not really intrested in the design. I guess this also boils down to respect, and how little respect there is for the guys "that sit playing a computer all day." Please post your views and oppinions on this subject as I would like to hear from fellow designers and coders about this. Regards /*Please note I believed this would be the best forum for this thread due to the HTML & WebDesign part */
