Do we need to PAY TAX by selling links? For example we lived in US or Canada? How about other countries? Like we earn $100 a month.
I guess the answer has to be yes. You're accruing profits selling something, so it turns out as your income. So yes, pay taxes.
You will need to report it as income (legally speaking), but whether you need to pay taxes will depend on whether you generate enough income (from all sources - jobs, links, etc...) to pay taxes. If selling links was your only source of income and you were earning $100 a month, you would still need to report that as income but you would probably be under the threshhold to pay taxes on it. If you had a job that paid $60K a year on top of that, then you would definitely pay tax on the link sale income.
In the USA, all income is reported. Even gifts, gambling winnings and so forth. As to your final tax on income, that depends on your own personal situation.
Gifts are generally not taxable income to the recipient. But to the OP's question, the answer is that signature link sales would in most cases fall under "other income" and would need to be reported on page 1 of the USA's Form 1040. However, as other posters have correctly pointed out, the total income from all sources will determine if you are above (or below) the minimum threshhold for owing income tax.
Right. I'm just pointing out that there's more to think about than just income from a paycheck. I've received gifts over $12k and gambling winnings, so that's why I brought it up.
Oh comon, the government need your money to support the Iraq bill. Didnt you hear about the guy who catches Barry Bond's ball has to pay tax whether he sells the ball or not?
You will definitely need to declare any income from which you benefit from. As to whether in the end how much you need to pay depends on your tax bracket and your deductibles.
