Do we need religion?

Is religion something that man needs, or will it eventually wither away?

 

You only need religion if you need a crutch to help you with life.

 

OC, we need to know that God is the one who gave us life, and we need to worship Him for that.

 

Because it's awesome and it gives you a more awesome life .

 

People need to believe in something... so they do. Without a belief in something what is the point, because in the end we are all dead? I believe suicide would sky rocket without some kind of organized belief where people could get together and share whatever it is they believe.

 

Religion is a ultimate lifestyle, its what you live for, sometime it becomes the vision to die for.

Religion is what holds us strong when we're nothing.

I can't understand that foolish people who believe in Astrology, intuition, luck and souls but not at religions.

the world would be more wicked than it already is.

 

Since many people don't believe in any god, no, religion is not something we need. (We need air - without it we die. We don't die due to not believing in a god.)

Then why is the VAST majority of the prison population in the US today religious? And why are most atheists honest?

If there's no religion, then there wouldn't be wars caused by religions like crusade war, there wouldn't be terrorism.

all of these are/ were based on geographical control, national interests and resource controlling.

 

Religion = Some need it while others don't.
