    Hi,

After reading some threads here, I came to conclusion that one need to have more than one site to get some good money.Iam really a novice in this webmaster's world as I started my website only a month ago. I was exhausted with the amount of work I have done to successfully launch one website from scratch. And is a hectic work to maintain the site.

I really apprecite people who maintain more than one website. But I wonder if anyone can achieve some good amount of money like $2000-$3000 a month with only a single site?

Welcome to the world of webmastery!

I think it very much depends what the purpose/aim/product of your site is, and the niche it resides in. Obviously if you're selling a product, then $2k-$3k could be very bleak, depending on the niche. Conversely if you're trying to make AdSense money on the back of a general interest blog, then you may come up against trouble.

Where does your site fall in to the spectrum? That'd give people a better idea of how to advise further I think.

    Best of luck :)

I don't know a single successful marketer who has only one site

It just seems like putting all your eggs in one basket

Also it takes a while to build a site up to the level when it is earning a significant amount of money. But two or three sites in different niches have a better chance of making ends meet

It really depends on what type of site and what you are trying to do. There are thousands of sites that earn more than $3,000, and I am not just talking about megasites like Amazon. But to make a living on a single site, it needs to be really, really good. That means, for the most part, it cannot be a site that simply gets users who are looking for real information and then serves them up AdSense instead. It has to have useful information that keeps people coming back.

Make sure you have a few websites over time. As others have said, you want to spread the risk of fluctuations in the search engines, seasonal variations etc etc.

The thing is once you've made a successful site, after, say, a year, why not build another one? Then after many years, you got yourself 5-6 sites and 3K a month or more, which is something people can live on. After that, you can work on your sites full time.

Well, not everyone will be able to make their first $2000 from a single website.
It's a journey. You will make money but you will have to keep trying until you find the niche that works for you.

Yes, you can make that kind of money from one site if your site is popular. Work on one site till you make at least a thousand dollar from that site before moving on to the next one.

Actually, most people who become successful, are ones who focus on one site.
Those who focus on multiple blogs/sites, or those who have like over 20 sites etc, are usually big businessmen who are quick to invest, and hire people to take care of their sites.

If you want success alone, you better focus on one site.

But you have to have a site that is good for the niche, and that you know you can win in.
