Recently i came across an app that's called Starsky.app which turns your text written idea into a a full working web app and it really got me thinking do we even need to learn coding if we have such tools in hand?

It's always good to know how things work. Ai really makes it easier for us, or at least it will make our work easier, but knowing how it works, you are much more involved in this whole thing.

Good luck describing your ideal app in such detail that an AI can create it. I'm not doubting the AI but the human to be sufficiently descriptive that it doesn't make mistakes.

Yup, at least for now, that's how it is. The more details you explain to him that you want to introduce, the more confused he gets. Who knows what will happen in the coming years.

You are right, apps like this one are great if you have ZERO knowledge of web development or design. They do offer people the chance to get a quick and dirty site out there. If you are in the industry though, then it is more of a case of using AI to supplement your skills.
AI is fantastic for getting a framework in place or fleshing out an idea.

A deep understanding of programming still provides more control over projects and allows for solving more complex tasks. Therefore, while such tools are helpful, programming will remain important for more complex and customized solutions.

Learning is never ending process, if you got the chance to learning something, just learn it.
Relying on tools won't always help you but if you know how things work, you can get more and more from these tools. Even these tool also developed by someone.

AI tools like Starsky.app are making it ridiculously easy to turn ideas into working apps, even if you don't know the first thing about coding. It’s a total game-changer for quick prototyping and for folks who aren’t super tech-savvy. But let’s be real, knowing how to code is still a major flex. It gives you full control, way more flexibility, and lets you tackle the tricky stuff that AI tools just can’t wrap their heads around yet.
Sure, these tools are awesome for laying down the basics, but they can fumble when it comes to things like scaling up, locking down security, or handling complex logic that doesn’t fit neatly into a template. Coding’s not going extinct, it’s just leveling up. Now it’s more about working with AI than being replaced by it.

Learning coding remains valuable for customization, understanding the logic behind the code, and solving unique problems that automated tools can't handle. It’s about enhancing creativity and flexibility, rather than replacing the need for coding entirely.

While tools like Starsky.app that turn text-based ideas into full web apps are impressive, they don't eliminate the need for coding knowledge. These tools simplify the process and can help quickly prototype or create simple applications, but they are limited in customization, scalability, and flexibility. Understanding coding still allows you to build more complex, tailored solutions, troubleshoot issues, and fully control your projects. Moreover, coding empowers you to understand how these tools work and improve on them. In the long run, having coding skills complements these tools, enabling you to leverage their capabilities while still tackling complex or unique challenges.
