I don't know why they disappear, but I do know why the green dot appears... Every color has an "opposite" color that you can determine by shifting the hue of the color 180 degrees. For example, if the main dots were blue instead of pink, an orange dot would appear (instead of green).

Also the same reason if you stare at a light (or the sun) or something yellow/orangish, then look away, you will see an image of whatever you were just looking at, except it will be opposite (purplish).

But that's all I can tell ya... :)

Your eyes are filtering out the constant items and focussing on those that change. The fluro pink's negative colour will be green and that's what we see, a bit like a sun spot when you've looked directly at the sun.

It's pretty cool, works in firefox, and typing this I can still see dots.

[see what happens when we type at the same time!]

I remember something about rods and cones in your eyes from many yonks ago in biology class. One had to do with colour and one with peripheral vision??? It was a long time ago.

So if you want a technical explanation Melly, after you have a few beers, your cones kick in. Men have the opposite effect and their rods kick in or fizzle out depending on the strength of their algorithims.

In either case, you are likely to see pretty coloured lights buzzing round, then a black dot, then nothing at all for a time. Ddn't you learn anything at school?

That one's easy, take a look at the symbol beside #2 then find every number with that symbol, I think there are 14 of them. No matter what 2 digit number you pick, you'll end up at 1 of the 14. They just change the symbols each time you try.

Well if you follow them around they are all green. If you look at the text above they are all pink with a green one going around and if you concentrate on the black dot in the middle you only see one green dot going around.

Try having a teething nearly 2 year old being bellied around by his dad in the background. That does all kinds of weird things to your perception.
