I think this is spot on. If we are to take it literally, there is no easy out - "dust your sandals, leave the village," and leave all worldly concerns behind. "Lillies of the field, and Birds of the Air" sermon and, if harmed, offer the other cheek. There is no room for worldly vengeance, in Christ's message, as far as I can see. It's what led me at 14 to abandon formal schooling, and go to live, pray and fast behind the foothills of Ventura as I only saw Christ and the imminency of his Second Coming. (I was a whacked kid).

If it isn't to be taken literally, then your interpretation may differ from my interpretation; and no matter how much we imbue our arguments with the firmness of absolute faith in the rightness of our interpretation, it is all still interpretation.

I'm not saying any of it is right or wrong, but it seems to me this is the choice - to take it hook, line and sinker, or choose among its tenets as suits.

(Actually, I fnd Matthew 6:28 - "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself" - one of the most beautiful expressions of zen yet to be written).

-Edited to add: whoops! sorry to be so off topic. I'm not a fan of Hillary Clinton. While I agree with WebmarketingMan, namely, she is brilliant, I don't find this is the end all and be all. As with her husband, who I held out such high hopes for - finally, a brilliant mind in the White House - absent a "center," something in one's character beyond the reach for power, "brains" may be a necessary but not sufficient condition to do the job well.

I'm not a fan of any candidate currently.

lol...I think everyone deserve room for their oddities.
    My opinion... exactly.
I like that view a lot. I tend to overwhelm myself, but one thing you learn flying a heli...don't worry about anything else and just focus on flying. That's especially said when you enter controlled crashes ie autorotations.

I'm not sure of anyone, either. I think if Newt runs, he'll probably be one of the smartest candiates out there,...but then again, it's not always the mind in leadership that makes it good.
