I agree, I just feel better knowing that I have a legit copy instead of something pirated. Makes calling support a lot easier, that's for sure!
I love how you all drop in the pity if only I could pay for it line. riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. We can't help it sometimes.
Yes, I have the original license for Photoshop. I'm not going to say I never use warez before, but once I have the money, sure I will get the legal one.
Yeah, I'm sure the police lurk forums like these waiting for people to admit to downloading overpriced software for free. *trembles*
I use open software for the most part. I have found few paid software titles, that I couldn't find an open source software to do what they do. I have a few paid for software titles, Photoshop, and Dreamweaver, but thats about it. But even with those, I have found open source software that are very comparable.
i never used photoshop... as i dont do photo editing work... but i have original copy of Windows 98SE, Windows XP Home edition and Microsoft Office 2000.... but i have purchase some softwares in the past few years.... i have purchase McAfee 2006 original CD, PECompact, commview and my lastest purchase is EXECryptor but i think EXECryptor is complete waste of my money.. it cost me $125 but i dont use this crap because all the claims are fake... and they dont refund my money.... and next month i am going to buy a spyware removal software thats cost only $30... because the software need the lic. key to download update everyday.... and rest of the softwares are freewares but few of them are made by myself which are really useful to me...
I guess piracy keeps prices low..in Indian due to piracy cost of movie CD's have come down drastically.NOw u can get Moser Bayer copyright cd for $1 .Companies should sell software at lower costs in Developing countries just like low price edition books .If prices are reasonable surely one would buy them
Unlike books, software can be copied easily. Selling them at a lower price in the third world countries will only increase copyright infringement.
you should always buy your software, otherwise its illegal. if you dont wanna buy, switch to freeware/open source and infact for those of you who dont even have a genuine copy of windows...switch to LINUX!
