I paid for a ticket to a music event. then had a competition on my site to win the ticket. but the enter you need to fill out a cpa survey. i have had a letter from the event manager saying i am breaking the law. is this true? im not selling the ticket, im giving it away, with a catch...
I'm not completely sure, though I'd say that as long as you're profiting from their product (which you are from CPA programs), you shouldn't do it. Just my novice advice though.
Anti-scalping laws vary by State and Country. I suggest looking up on Google for your state/country anti-scalping laws.
It looks like you are in the UK, so what I know doesn't apply to you. However, in California if you want to run a sweepstakes (which is what your drawing would be considered), you can't require people to make a purchase or place an order. All of the sweepstakes I've seen that ask people to fill out a survey also provide an alternative means of submitting an entry without filling out the survey. See for example: https://www.evansresearchonline.com/CS08/rules_us.php?ID=&INTRO=Y The law in UK is going to be different, of course. For example, what we call "sweepstakes" in the US, Wikipedia suggests you guys call a "competition" (I don't know if that's true or not). You need to talk to an expert in UK law.
