Do these links count?

I own w4t3r.com, and here's one of my backlinks:

    http://www.theobnoxiouscritic.com/modules.php?name=Web_Links&l_op=viewlink&cid=2

See, it doesn't directly link to w4t3r.com, I mean, when you put the mouse over the link, the link doesn't go to w4t3r.com, it goes to obnoxiouscritic/modules/weblinksaijdflkajsdf or something like that. Since it does redirect to my site, does it still count as a regular backlink to my site? Is it worth less than a regular link that links straight to my site? I have another backlink similar to this so I want to know if this is bad early on. Thank you.

No, that doesn't count as a backlink. It needs to be a static link to your site... i.e. http://www.yourwebsite.com

It does if Google can get through the dynamic URLs and find it. Static URLs are much better.

Is it worth keeping them? Should I delete them from my site and use the space for better link partners?

I would yes, static links are better.

I guess I'm going to have to cut them off if they don't change their non-static link ways. Thanks.

I would say that they are doing some sneaky linking and I wouldn't trust them to count. The only links I really trust are plain-jane links that I can find in Yahoo. Otherwise, if it doesn't show up there, it doesn't really count in my mind.

This is very interesting... I'll have to do something about it.

Kaabi, your PR / Google standing in most cases is not affected by poor inbound links (i.e. because you don't have control over them). So if you're getting some traffice from the above-stated website, why cut it?

Because it's taking up link space on my site.

Unless you're getting traffic from links like that, get rid of them.

Traffic, aye? I do like traffic, except the kind on the streets.
