I own w4t3r.com, and here's one of my backlinks: http://www.theobnoxiouscritic.com/modules.php?name=Web_Links&l_op=viewlink&cid=2 See, it doesn't directly link to w4t3r.com, I mean, when you put the mouse over the link, the link doesn't go to w4t3r.com, it goes to obnoxiouscritic/modules/weblinksaijdflkajsdf or something like that. Since it does redirect to my site, does it still count as a regular backlink to my site? Is it worth less than a regular link that links straight to my site? I have another backlink similar to this so I want to know if this is bad early on. Thank you.
No, that doesn't count as a backlink. It needs to be a static link to your site... i.e. http://www.yourwebsite.com
Is it worth keeping them? Should I delete them from my site and use the space for better link partners?
I would say that they are doing some sneaky linking and I wouldn't trust them to count. The only links I really trust are plain-jane links that I can find in Yahoo. Otherwise, if it doesn't show up there, it doesn't really count in my mind.
Kaabi, your PR / Google standing in most cases is not affected by poor inbound links (i.e. because you don't have control over them). So if you're getting some traffice from the above-stated website, why cut it?
