In my html website, i added some links with space between words. here is the example link http://www.belmos.com/How to lose weight for your wedding day.html when i do copy paste, the link becomes http://www.belmos.com/How to lose weight for your wedding day.html do this will reduce my search engine ranking.
looks like you are using spaces in between words in your filename which is not a good idea. if the words need to be seperated in a filename, you can use dash or underscore which will make the URL more search engine freindly
As always, the "sulton" has given you great advice. Using spaces in filenames is a bad idea. I see this a lot and have often wondered if it is because people are building sites using Microsoft Word/Save As HTML or Frontpage? I would recommend using hyphen as sultonofseo said... Google recommends hyphens even over underscore as a word separator (see 2nd paragraph at http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=76329). I'm guessing since they recommend hyphens over underscore there are likely still some parts of their systems where underscore is not treated as a word separator.
hi, currently you are having How to lose we...dding day.html change the html page file name to How_to_lose_weight.html dont extend the url much which is not google url friendly try to put only keywords.
It won't have much impact on your rankibngs as TheRazor5 said. However, it will look a lot more professional with dashes or underscores. I mean, seeing all those %20(s) can sometimes be scary from visitor's perspective, simply because they don't understand that these are representing spaces.
