Do the reports include your own personal visits?

I was wondering if the impressions also include the visits you made to your own site? If so, can this get you in trouble if you check your own site often?

I tend to check it often when I'm updating to make sure everything looks fine and is working correctly. Don't worry, I haven't clicked on a google ad to make sure it is working.

No, the reports do include your own pageviews. Just don't click on your ads and you'll be fine :)

Thanks Weston :) Now I know the stat tracker I use is accurate, because they are both giving me about the same number of visits. The tracker is a little higher, since it does include my page visits.

Will viewing my own site create invalid page impressions?
We take the issue of invalid clicks and page impressions very seriously. As a result, we have a dedicated team of specialists, as well as automated systems, to flag and review any unusual activity. Simply viewing your pages yourself will not jeopardize your good standing in the AdSense program - however, please continue to avoid clicking on any ads, and don't reload your pages excessively.

I'm sure the Gogole AdSense impressions include your visits too.
That's why they say not to refresh your pages excessively ;)

what exactly is meant by execssively? As I said I check and double check my site when working on it. I'll have it up while coding it, refresh when tweaking. I haven't done any major updating as of yet, but that is where I might run into trouble. When I do that, I'll be working on several pages at once also though.

Excessively depends on the number of pageviews your site usually gets I would assume.

If your site gets 100 pageviews a day and you do 90 of them, that is excessive.

If your site gets 1000 pageviews a day and you do 90 of them, that isn't AS excessive

If your site gets 10000 pageviews a day and you do 90 of them, then you are insignificant probably in Google's eyes :)

What about this scernio. Say you average 100 visitors a day. Then one or two days a week the impressions shoot up to say 150 due to working on the site. Excessive or borderline?

If you have 5000 hits a day and you generate 1000 of them, that's excessively ;)

That would be excessive. The problem is that right now my site averages 30 visitors a day. Yesterday I only had 17 with one click. At least I got the one click :) With that low of count, any hits I make to the site google might see as excessive.

Maybe I shouldn't worry about it, and just update the site as I normally would no matter how many hits I might make.

No if your traffic is 30 visitors daily, if you make 30-40-50 hits that wouldn't be a problem.
Just don't do it everyday and you will be fine ;)
Google know you have to work on your own site.

i've never had any issues with my own impressions nor have i heard anyone having had any issues with google regarding own impressions.

what does excessive means? it means if google detects fraud via impressions then they have a tool to ban you. but working on your site is no fraud so you'll have no problems.

it doesn't matter if you have 10000 impressions and 9995 are from you. :D
you won't see many cpm ads anyway from them.it is upto google not to pay you for those cpm impressions anyway.
