There are lots directory submission services here on dp and across the web. Do these actually provide valid traffic and an increase in ranking? I feel they might do if they are relevant to the business type. For services that happen over 2-5 days, surely the search engines will see the peak in traffic and have some type of algorithm to analyse this? What are the thoughts of the SEO gurus on dp?
Quality link submitting services are still good for building back links and also for SERPs if the link submissions are well targeted. That is to say if the links are submitted to relevant directory categories and the directories themselves are not not just "SPAMMY" link dumps.
Submitting to directories never bring any traffic but yea it surely helps in attaining backlinks which are required for good serps
I add my thumbs up to the comments that directories are useful for backlinks, but not necessarily for traffic. Liz N
