I see a good bit of social shares going on between most of my profiles, however, what I can not find is any evidence of backlinks. If someone shares a link, would I not be able to find that? at this point, i see almost nothing...tons of reweets, link shares, but no proof of backlinks... It seems social sites are designed not to index, send you a load of spiders, some traffic, and get no backlinks out of it.
If it's Twitter, it's a "NO". Others, I believe have the same strategy as twitter. http://wojdylosocialmedia.com/twitter-tweets-get-indexed-google-affect-seo/
I am not famous nor does my sites, but still they provide backlinks to sites who register & submit their social media & press Release on the sites of my network, im me to know the details or check out mine sig
Actually depends how but some of the social media backlinks are quite worthy, for instance youtube description URL's have been known to be more worthy as the amount of views increase. *Just social proof here*
From what I know you can`t get any backlinks from social shares. That doesn`t mean that social shares are completely useless. Because of social shares you have access to a broader audience and because of that the amount of traffic coming to your website will increase.
Social shares are also known as social signals. They are not indexed as backlinks in google but they do have a share in how google ranks your page. So these shares are not at all useless, on the contrary they will do a lot for the ranking of your page.
All the links from social media are nofollow. How can social media do "a lot for the ranking of your page" if you don`t receive any link juice? Care to elaborate? Do you have any source for this nonsense.
^ That is correct, links from social media sites are indeed no follow. Social media is good for increasing your online presence but will not rank a website in terms of SEO.
just google for social signals: https://www.searchenginejournal.com/social-signals-affect-seo/135956/ https://searchenginewatch.com/sew/how-to/2409919/has-google-turned-up-social-signals-as-a-ranking-factor https://blog.kissmetrics.com/social-media-and-seo/ and so on
