I post my site to Digg.com

    I didn't get any traffic.

Do you use social bookmarking sites for SEO or not??:mad:

    I get confused:eek:

I use them more for SEO purposes than I do for direct traffic from the social bookmarking sites I use. If I submit a "story" via Digg, for example, I'm really trying to use that to get some leverage in the search engines for a specific keyword that is in the story I submitted. If I get some traffic from Digg out of the deal, that's great, but not why I use social bookmarking.

Hope that helps answer your question a little bit.

This is the Clickbank forum. Your confusion must still persist. :)

Yes, social bookmarking does help for SEO. But one must use dofollow social bookmarking sites. One Digg is not going to cut it. Try this social bookmarking list if you need some more social bookmarking sites to submit to.

Besides social bookmarking, submit to web/article directories, use forum signatures, comment on related blogs, submit classified ads, etc. There are many free places to get links at and your SEO efforts should include as many legitimate sources of links as possible.

They can work for traffic - but they're something you have to learn how to use properly. Like with your Digg submission - did you consider keywords? You can get a Digg submission to rank quite well in the SE and get you some good traffic but you need it to be a keyword phrase that is both searched for and also doesn't have too much competition.

I use StumbleUpon, Digg and SocialMarker.com
It does bring a bit of traffic and it gives BACKLINKS!

My blog had 39 google backlinks yesterday. I wrote another post, used the sites I listed above, today I have 71 backlinks!

    Hello fzldemeny,

Try more than one bookmarking website, also dont just
go onto the websites and start spamming your new link
    all over.

Learn how to add to each community and interact with
the rest of the users online there.

You can try using onlywire.com and socialmarker.com and
start adding your link to more bookmarking websites.

    Yours,

If its on a differnet topic or another great story then there
is no problem but I think that you cannot link to the same
page twice unless you have multiple accounts.

If you have a blog and make a new post then digg it, stumble
    it add it to socialmarker.com

No because it has the same url, I would presume that you would
only be able to add that link again from another account, which
is why it is good to have multiple accounts however you dont
    need to.

Like I said you can always use a subdomain or pages within your
website or submit new posts that you make to your blogs.

Yes for example if you bookmarked www.yourdomain.com/blah
that is one bookmark if you wanted to bookmark again it would
have to be a different page www.yourdomain.com/blahblah or if
you wanted to bookmark the same page you would need to create
two accounts on a bookmarking website.

Each bookmarking website is different so you would need to check
but I myself have only ever done it using multiple accounts.

Is SocialMarker so good? I think it's a bit spammy, isn't?

So basically how does it work? First you create an account on each of those websites, then you enter your url's details on SM website, click submit and it automatically does all the work?

if you write a good post and put that digg badge on your post, and if by some chance thousands digg that post, you can prob expect your site to crash from the insane amounts of traffic that will be coming to your site from digg.

bl4ckman^ Social Marker is Semi-automatic. You join all the SB sites and fill in your URL info on the social marker site. Then when you click submit, you will be taken to each site, where you will just have to choose categories, and sometimes fill in some tags and descriptions that didn’t add themselves.

I dont think SM is spammy at all, it takes me 5-10 minutes to complete, and I recommend you try it. Because I dont know of anything that beats SM that isnt spammy and complete automatic. (If anyone knows a tool better than SM then please share)

Thanks for explanation. I may have a look at it.

Regarding other tools, have you heard about Bookmarking Demon? I don't really know, if it's good or not, but it looks pretty professional.
