Do social bookmarking sites give backlinks??

Please tell me Do social bookmarking sites give useful backlinks or just help in indexing in SEs??

 

Most of them doesn't give you a back link. But good for traffic...

 

yes they do give backlinks. lot of them are turning to nofollow due to extreme abuse but they still count when it comes to yahoo and msn. besides, depending on where you submit, you might get some bonus traffic from SB sites as well

 

Yes, most of them seems to be non follow as I did some social bookmaking myself and I am still waiting for links to show up and it has been over a month now.

 

I my point of view they only give u traffic.

 

I agree with beven - The value I get from social bookmarking sites are mostly additional traffic. A slight bump in PR is just a bonus ;-).

Some are still dofollow and for some reason even some of the nofollow social bookmarking sites show up in my google webmaster tools in links to your site. Mostly just a traffic boost though.

Depends on which backlink checker tool as to which sb sites shows up in links. So - at a guess - I'd say yes they do count but they don't all show up in each backlink checker.

 

Yeah, many of them do give backlinks. However, if you don´t use some kind of automated program for submitting to them using them for link building can be very time consuming. Personally I prefer to use this time to write articles.

Like other forms of backlinking that can be abused and overused easily you get what you deserve as far as link credit goes and that isn't much.

 

I've noticed the newer sites give backlinks but once they get more established (and abused by spam) they tend to go nofollow.
