Do skyscrapers work?

Greetings All:
On my cartoon/humor site cartertoons.com I get very healthy CTR for my homepage, which is also the majority of my traffic. On almost all other pages I have text links and skyscrapers on the left, and the skyscraper image ads don't seem to do very well. Should I swap them for text links or just delete? Thanks in advance for any advice.

 

I would say that skyscapers are not as good as other ad formats as they are not in the content, rather to the side of the viewers attention and I would recommend instead the following options

IMHO, I think text link is better than skyscraper. You can put it in between your menu.

 

Thanks for the advice- sounds good. I will implement option one as I think that would greatly improve the CTR for that page. I will probably do the same for the other pages if I move my navigation to the top as per option 2. Thanks again!

Large Rectangle Between Post And The Text Ads On Top Will Work Better

 

I'd certainly say your current rectangular block would be your best option. However, I'd reccomend experimenting with colours as well - that can often make a dramatic change.

 

Trial & Error. See what is working best for you and then swap out for good.
