Do sitemaps have to submitted regularly?

I submitted sitemaps of my blog ThePunditReport.com using Attracta.com. What I'd like to know is whether this should be repeated every time I publish new content, or whether the re-submission of sitemap is automatic.

I've also submitted sitemaps using Google Webmasters, do I have to re submit it again?

 

if you have Wordpress site you don;t have submit your sitemap regularly..just install google sitemap generator plugin

I only update and resubmit my sitemap when I have made changes to my site. If there haven't been any changes there is no need to resubmit.

 

if you get your site updated frequently then you need to submit google maps when ever they are updated

Sorry, I don't understand your comment - audit by who?? Once a sitemap has been submitted, there is no reason to submit it again on a regular basis unless it has been changed (i.e. your site has been updated and you have subsequently updated your sitemap).

remember: NEw content / original content fetch you loads of traffic
dublicate/copied contient will effect your traffic score!

 

yes, i also re-submit sitemap, i always submit sitemap because our website add daily content so i generate and submit site map , after 2-3 days. site map is main part in your website, so i suggest you if you need improve your site position you generate all 4 sitemap, html, xml, ror, gz.xml, .txturl all and time to time resubmit your sitemap via google webmaster tools.

I have 4 sitemap files.out of these, 3 files never changed. One file is changed frequently.

Do you want to submit all or 4 files or only updated file is required for this?

 

How do you have 4 sitemaps - is it a large site and the sitemap is split into 4 sections? Or are they for 4 different websites?

 

you can use sitemaps, if you have large site but you must split into at least 2 sections not more its bad idea as i know also you make zip your sitemaps

 

hi all according to me you upload 4 different site map,

1. sitemap.xml
2. sitemap.html
3. ror.xml
4. urllist.txt
5. sitemap.xml.gz ( it's same to sitemap.xml) so only four types you upload sitemap

Then do rss work

1. RSS create
2. feed submit

 

Is there a way to test a sitemap?

 

No you dont have to submit your sitemap regularly on blogger and wordpress

 

One more question, Do this submit files should be in domain directory? or Do we refer this files in the sub folder of domain directory
