Do SEO's recommend web directories?

    There is not set time frame they just "get to it when we can...maybe...oh and by the way we won't notifiy you if we chose not to list your site"

    Editors can be bribed, the site submission is sometime down indefinitely and the listing aren't cleaned up regularly.

    DMOZ is one of the biggest scams online. Google's black sheep in the family.

    Directory submission can increase your page ranking !
    But it depends on the PR of directories where we submit

    When I submitted my first site to DMOZ in 2005, it was accepted about three months later. Then in 2006 I created another site and submitted it (in a different category), and had to wait about seven months for it to get listed.

    So those are specific examples of how long it might take. Also, they didn't notify me either time, and I only found out about the acceptances by checking occasionally. I don't think they notify about rejections either.
