Do search engines support domain forwarding ?

I am a newbie here. I have heard that search engine robots do not like redirection.

Suppose I have a domain bought somewhere and I have hosting server somewhere else. I need to use domain forwarding to point to my hosting server, right? Is it acceptable for the search engines?

    Please help.

    Thanks,
    Suman.

search engines does not care domain redirect but they care how you have done it. it's important that which one do you use 301 redirect or the others

just provide hosting server address in domain management and SE don't bother it .

anyways if u want to redirect then 301 is best

Why not just change the dns.

The dns is a "pointer" your registrar sets up which shows the "internet" the "location" of your hosting server. Search engines,. just like everyone else, just follows the dns

Am I right on this guys?

Yes, but what if I don't know the DNS? What if I am redirecting (domain forwarding) to a web address and I do not have the corresponding DNS address?

The next question would be, how do I find out the DNS entry of an arbitrary web location? Is it possible?
