I saw this script (rsstatic) that generates static pages from other people's RSS feeds. This can help me with content creation, but won't the duplicate content actually hurt me more? I saw sites that use this, but noticed that pages created a year ago have zero pagerank. Any help appreciated...
there are many sites out there using rss to make automated posts / blogging. personally i am not sure does this have any bad impact. but what is the difference of showing other sites syndicated rss content dynamically and actually posting and or make them into static page ? isnt the rss site owners want this to happen? so that it will draw visitor to their site. or also more linkback to their site.
Does not Google detect where the content was first posted and then not penalize that site for duplicate content?
Google Penalize those sites having the most of the same content. Google can detect if you just change the header or the image. RSS feed takes up only a portion of your page so it wont hurt you. The RSS Feeds makes your pages more dynamic and help your page have a constant fresh content. Google might be understanding these feed. Many websites news feed on their site because it changes constantly (Not to mention they are informative). ^_^
Yea, I gain a lot of traffic by feeding my website with rss news, actualy I use php so the feeds will look original,by the way google does not see text that is writin with java script .
I'm not really concerned with anything but the effects of rsstatic with Pagerank, does anyone have any experience with this? Did using rsstatic (not other rss methods) improve your Pagerank or the opposite?
Interesting, I see your point. So you are not gaining any benefit from the content being keyword rich for the SEs to crawl. You are just making it interesting enough for people to read, and possible serve as a good link bait, and having the SEs not credit you for the content. Looks like something I want to play around with too.
