I set up the main page of my website at epic-anime.info/main, and I used epic-anime.info/ to redirect to the directory /main/. Will this redirect affect anything since my site isn't at the root but is instead in another directory with a redirect pointed at it? Sorry if this is a stupid question, I've only started site managing and have been at it for a week...
IMHO, initially it will affect, But after that it will become stable and normal serp ranking that you are having right now.
alright because the problem was that I initially had a splash page at root but later backed out, seeing it wasn't a very good idea... and I'm too lazy to move the contents of /main/ to the root XD
at start, you will see page not found at google webmaster tools. but later on, after google understands the changes, you will get your previous rankings. im doing that right now.
OH I see, thanks a lot HiSoC8Y... you saved me the trouble of making another thread I was wondering why my page wasn't coming up on google webmaster tools, its been a week. Thanks for letting me know... Do you know how long it will take for "google to understand the changes"?
It would take some time i think, but exact timeframe, i dont know. i have about 30,000 pages, but only 13,000 is indexed ad the moment, and its increasing every week...
