Do reciprocal links really help your website rank in the search engines. I know this may seem like another reciprocal link thread, but I still don't understand. I've heard some people here say that it's great, others saying that is is ok, some people even saying that it is bad for your website. So, which one is true? Thanks

Im just going to assume your new to this... So here's your answer.

Reciprocal Links ARE good to have... The only reason that they would hurt you in SERPS is if you have links coming from other unrelated websites. Even then it really doesnt hurt all that bad. But anyways, Keep the websites you link with related to your content and your good to go.

I think that for every website it's important to get more one-way backlinks than reciprocal ones as they are considered to be more valuable for search engines.

Anyway make sure that all your reciprocal links are highly relevant to your site - I agree that it's really matters.
Probably if there are not too many of them they won't be harmful for your SERPs - just keep an eye on their number and try to minimize it.
