Do professional web designers use joomla and druple?

Someone mentioned druple to me this weekend and I had no clue what it was, so I did some research and found druple and joomla.

I understand the cms part of the equation and seems great for clients, my question is do all web site designs and developers use drupal and joolma? they all seem to use templates and stuff from what I got so far.

If you use joolma or druple do you need to learn dreamweaver, or you just need to understand html, php etc...

I ask because I would really rather spend time learning both drupal and joomla at this point then dreamweaver. I am pretty good with frontpage but I feel like I am not keeping up with the times...

Anyway, thank you for your time, DP is always a good place to start a quest.

Also which is better of the two (Drupal or Joomla)

Both Joomla and Drupal are CMS that are pretty advanced. If your goal is to make custome websites and then template them into one of these CMS's I strongly suggest that It is best you start by learning HTML/CSS (in code view). Once you are very good at these languages learn a bit oh PHP and then start to learn druple and joomla.

NeilsWeb, I don't want to make templates I want to use the templates on drupal, writing html/css in code no way I just want to design websites, I can read the code but it is just too much work to write it, i use design mode both in frontpage and dreamweaver.

    thanks for your response.

a good webdesigner/developer will always use the best cms for a certain job. if someone just wants a blog, it might be wordpress, if someone wants a portal with forum, blog, etc, he might use drupal.
templating is another thing, you can use drupal and wordpress and joomla without knowing html, but then your are limited to the templates that are available. your always need html/css if you start to customize.
dreamweaver is just an editor, you might be able to use it without knowing html, but i doubt it site will be the way u want it to be without knowing any html.
dreamweaver should help a designer with is work, but a good designer can do the same on a simple texteditor, it will just take a bit longer (if he is very skilled maybe shorter)
