Question: Does posting to forums just like this one help get you "backlinks" to your website. Someone is trying to sell me a service to do this but i am skeptical. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks My website is Chiropractor in Northern Virginia is a link to our website.
yes its counted but sometime google takes tile to index all this link on forum. Try registering on forums and put your website on your profile there. then wait for 1 week after that you can start posting. In that way you can avoid being banned on forum sites.
Many blogs and forums use "nofollow" links, and remember links are supposed to be from relevant content, so it would have to be from a forum related to your site. Relevant articles (e.g. ezinearticles) and press releases are a much better way of building inbound links.
I agree with Matt. A lot of forums now use the no follow link. I think it's to try and stop people who post just for the backlink. Some forums however still use the do follow attribute in their links personally I think there are better ways to get backlinks than spamming forums
Some People still build their backlinks with this method, Perhaps Google can recognise , perhaps it's still working.
from my experience it is counted just dont over do it. i believe there is a certain ratio that you should not cross
Google and other search engines consider forum links, but you must be careful not to post links in every post so you don't get banned.
Away to use forums is to setup an account wait for a week or so, then put a few backlinks in your signatur but not to many. But beaware that some forum will ban you and you might end up on one of the spamming lists some forums are using.
My name appeared on google within five hours of my signing up on DP. Forum posting can indeed help a lot with Google ranking.
yes dont spam thats the way forword really. Noticed that a lot of the spam is begining to die out as time go by (apart from my Outlook inbox folder lol)
good thing if you are not spamming is you can learn while doing your job...and it is better to keep the community alive...
