Do .php extensions still hurt SEO?

    Thanks to all who responded, especially David. I'm not using session id's in any of my URL's (although the way you guys explained it, I can totally see why the spiders would have a problem), so I'm good to go.

    I absolutely love .php and will keep on rocking it. :D

    php doesnt hurt seo. the php spits out static content which is indexed.

    Yeah its true Search Engines don't care if its .html or .php but normally experiments do show that .php gets indexed fast + in rankings to it comes up. Though via html also rankings are for sure,,,,,,,,,there is only a small difference between them. That doesn't means that we need to design in PHP but if anyone would love to design in php then they can go ahead,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

    We use the .htaccess file to convert the .php string into an seo friendly .html string

    As some have surely said, there is no difference for file extensions. As long as they'res not an excessive number of php parameters and/or session ID's it makes no difference. Search engines care about content, not the page extension.
