clearly, people use this forum, but how has forum use changed because facebook and social networking. Is it still a good idea to build up forums? I enjoy creating them and have a few successful ones. I am interested in making websites and selling them, but I'm not sure if forums are the best way to do so. This is my first post here, so any advice is very much appreciated.
Simple question, but maybe a profound one also. I see a ton of forums that have nothing but "Roboposts," and you see a lot of forums with fluff posts, "me-too" type stuff. DigitalPoint is better than most. Flippa is a good way to see what kind of websites are worth money these days. Also, the buy and sell parts of DigitalPoint are good ways to get ideas of the market. Good luck! Mike
Hi, I still know many forums being used by thousands of users, it depends on the type of forum you want to start. For example, a tutorial based forums would work out but a socializing forum would fail because of the big social networking websites. As long as the forums is used for spreading knowledge then yes, it will work and it won't work for meeting new people for socializing purposes only.
I think forums are still a big thing and will be so for a long time. Social networking may take away alot of the fluff posting and chit chat, but forums can have very long and indepth converstations about a specific topic or industries (such as here). You dont generally get that from social networking, or at least I have not seen it. For this reason alone I think forums have still a while to stick around.
I think forum is the best place to share idea and learn from each other. So we can not miss this place.
well, forum is still different compare to social network. If you are looking niche information, learn or share niche information, forum still one of the best place but not the social network
yes definitely. a forum is a place where people of the same interest share ideas and review someone else's product without biased. IMO, Facebook on the other hand is based on popularity or on how many friends you have.
this is definetly how the situation is right now but for some regions blogs are replacing the forums or they are concentrating as only the bigger ones will be profitable
Forums will always be around. Surely, people still use forums. You see how many people are online here? Also, check some of your favorite forums on the web, I bet they're still popular. As long as you got quality content, forums will remain. Facebook hasn't replaced forums nor has twitter.
